A Notre Dame Player Kisses His Master's Feet |
This link is hilarious. . .it's the end of the Michigan - Notre Dame game on the Notre Dame radio network. The agony and disgust in the Notre Dame announcer's voice is priceless. And, strangely, after Notre Dame scored to take the lead with 30 seconds left, he almost seemed to expect the meltdown that was about to hit the ND defense. . .
A couple things:
ReplyDeleteBrian Kelly, I believe, is a very good coach. He had his team ready to play, they weren't at all distracted by the hoopla over the first night game at the Big House, etc. They came out and kicked Michigan all over the field in the 1st Quarter. . .and really, through 3 quarters, pretty much dominated Michigan. Yet Kelly, like in last year's game, made some curious strategy choices as the game went on. It seemed to me, from watching the first half, Notre Dame could run at will on Michigan, yet he had Rees continue passing, even after a couple dumb throws for INTs that kept Michigan in the game. Anyway, I still think Kelly is a helluva coach, and I don't believe for a second ND will fold up like they did under the fat ass Weiss. I expect Notre Dame to beat MSU in a tough game.
Michigan is going to struggle to score points in the Big 10. Almost all of Robinson's 338 passing yards were on fluke plays. . .give the kid credit, he never backed down and kept firing all night. . .but that game was a one-in-a-million, kind of like the Nick Sheridan game against Minnesota. It was very troubling to see how poorly Michigan's tailbacks ran the ball, and how poor the run blocking was. They got two weeks to fix that. Who the Hell are they going to beat in the Big 10, with this square peg/round hole offense and shit defense? They beat Illinois last year, but that was 67 - 65, and no way this offense scores anywhere near 67 this year. They will beat Minnesota and maybe Purdue. But unless this team does something RichRod's teams never did, improve as the season goes along, they lose to Northwestern, Michigan State (blow out), Iowa, Illinois (blow out), Nebraska, Ohio State.
