Today's Games

The Lions are up on KC. So far, Stafford has 273 yards, 3 TD's, and 1 INT.

How long until he gets hit and goes down for a year. He had the body for college, has the arm and head for the NFL, but can his body hold up? Or does he need better pass protection? Does Detroit invest heavily in pass blocking?

Indy is down to the Browns. I like Collins, but he's no Manning. And I'm not a fan of Manning, but there is a huge difference between the passing from Manning vs. the passing of Collins.

Hillis, the Great White Hope, is averaging a scant 2.7 yards a carry. He's a hoss, for sure, but he may be more fullback material a la Rathman. He catches and runs well. Can he match last year?

McCoy is turning into a nice workaday QB. 198 yards, 1 TD, 11 rushing. He needs that run-game. Is Hillis that guy?

The other Great White Hope in MN, Toby "I'm not black even though I'm named Toby" Gehrhart is under-used. Two rushes for 36 yards and one reception for 42. Yes, three plays don't mean the world, but he's under-used. As is Percy Harvin. Peterson has nice yards but coughed one up.

Saints are rolling. Brees looks excellent. The D has been harassing Cutler all day. It's a rare qb to be okay with the hits and hurries. Cutler is not one of them.

Big Ben is showing up (good for me; he's my fantasy football qb). Blowout in Seattle. Suck on that, Pete Carroll.

Rodgers is tame in GB. He's probably the best qb in football right now (good for you; he's YOUR qb).

  1. Lions beat the shit out of KC. Cassel was terrible for the Chiefs. . .man, there are still a lot of bad QBs in the League. One thing a little troublesome for the Lions is they looked a little vulnerable to the speed backs Charles and McCluster. Stafford is playing very well, but you still hold your breath everytime he gets touched. It doesn't help when he winces in agony like fucking Nancy Kerrigan whenever he takes the slightest hit. I'll say it again, if Stafford stays on his feet all year, the Lions are a definite playoff threat. He made some great throws today, threading the needle with bullets. And the rookie Young looked very good, also. One more weapon for Stafford.

I watched the end of the Falcons-Eagles game at the jail. All the inmates were pulling hard for the Eagles and Vick. . .the place was somber when Vick got knocked out, and dead silent as the Falcons won the game.

Can't believe Tennessee beats Baltimore. The Ravens looked terrifying against the Steelers, but now we see it was a fluke, they are just another team. . .giving up 350 yds to the human crash test dummy Hasselbeck??

What's up with Cam Newton? Another 400 yd game? I thought Carolina would be the worst team in the league this year, but they hung in there against the Packers. Right now the Chiefs look like the worst team, with Seattle right behind (ahead) of them.

  2. Atlanta is still a Vick town. He was s dream come true for many. A thug making it at a high profile position, getting high and doing interview, wearing gangsta attire, all that mess.

It's fitting the guy did prison. It makes sense a bunch of inmates rooted for him. I was rooting for him to be injured, which he was, but not badly enough.

This isn't a dog thing. Vick was an asshole long before that.

Vick walked off the field after hurting his neck on his own player. People booed ferociously. Vick fans were in shorter supply inside the Dome. As he reached the tunnel, the people made a point to scream at him. I figured he would flip some more fingers for old-time's sake and he came close.

It will be difficult for Vick to claim he was tagged illegally when he hit his head on an Eagle, but he may try. If he has a concussion, how can you tell? The guy was never bright.

Newton threw for more than 400 but also threw 3 picks. It's probably rookie mistakes. He looks good. Look at how Auburn looks without him.

He'll probably have to return his Heisman.
