SEC About To Become A Monster

You knew when the SEC decided to take Texas A&M, they brought them in to lure the big fish, Oklahoma.  Now Oklahoma is admitting they are thinking of dumping the dead-in-water Big Whatever It Was. . .if the SEC lands Oklahoma, what a fucking monster conference.  No way Texas joins the SEC--I don't think A&M would have bolted for the SEC unless they got some assurance they wouldn't have to once again play second fiddle to the Longhorns in a new conference.  Where does that leave Texas?  Big 10?  The Big 10 could poach Texas and Missouri, or finally force Notre Dame to join up.  Either way, you got The Monster Conference SEC, and the Almost Monster Big 10 (if ND joins), leaving everybody else to fight for table scraps like Kansas and Oklahoma State.

  1. The SEC doesn't need to get any better and it would be good for NCAA football to block any strengthening of the conference in the interests of avoiding a regional bias and dominance.

Why should some guy in Minnesota care about NCAA football if the SEC is taking it all every year?

The super-conference of any sort should be avoided for the good of football lest it turns into a competition for who comes in 2nd.
